Program Overview

4u (4 and under)

At NC Fusion we care about players and their families. This program is the beginning of a journey for our youngest players. As such we have developed a carefully thought out curriculum that focuses on fundamental child development skills, as well as an introduction to the game of soccer. We hope that you and your child enjoy the experience together. Each of the 6 sessions will include the following 4 stages:

Stage 1 Value:

We believe that a focus on motor skills is not only crucial to physical development, but exercising and learning motor skills without a ball at the beginning of a session will help in psychological comfort, resulting in increased enjoyment, participation, and ‘success’.

Stage 2 Value:

The introduction of the soccer ball is the natural progression. Focusing on activities that do NOT require sharing a ball is in line with the players cognitive age and will continue to enhance enjoyment as well as the comfort level of the player.

Stage 3 Value:

The next progression is goal orientated. This may include covering a distance, scoring a goal, etc. including 1vs1 challenges.

Stage 4 Value:

Free play is essential to children’s social development. Family involvement will allow the player to do things his/her way and enjoy playing on his/her terms. The value of playing as a family and/or with other families is meant to be enjoyed in this time.

Location and Time

Sessions will be offered on Friday and/or Sunday evenings at:

EAST (GSO) Proehlific Park or Irving Park Elementary School
